Can't add United Kingdom to the shipping zone

Topic summary

Issue: Adding the United Kingdom to a Shopify shipping zone triggers the error “Cannot save zone. Country: ‘United Kingdom’ must have at least one province associated,” while no province/state list appears under the UK.

Context: The problem surfaced after recent updates (unclear if directly related). A screenshot is attached showing the exact error.

Update/Workaround: Using the Shopify mobile app, the province selection list for the UK is visible, allowing the UK to be added to the shipping zone. This serves as a temporary fix, though not ideal.

Responses: Another participant confirmed they will try the app-based workaround.

Status: Ongoing. No confirmed platform fix or official guidance yet.

Open questions:

  • Root cause of the missing province list in the web admin.
  • Whether this affects all stores or specific accounts/regions.
  • Timeline for a permanent fix.

Action: Use the mobile app to add the UK to the shipping zone until the web interface is corrected.

EDIT/UPDATE: When you use the mobile app, you can add UK because in the app you can see the selection list for the UK. Just in case someone has this issue, you can use the app to resolve the issue. (Not ideal but still works)

ORIGINAL POST:

Hello everyone, I have been trying to create a shipping zone that includes the United Kingdom but whenever I try adding it, it keep giving me this error:

Cannot save zone. Country: ‘United Kingdom’ must have at least one province associated.

The weird thing is that there is no selection underneath United Kingdom to select “provinces/states”.

Anyone experiencing the same issue? I am not sure if this is related to the updates that just happened?
