Card somehow linked to another persons shop

Hi,

I have been in contact with my bank with respect to some shopify charges on my debit card that they tell me are related to someone else’s website fanduco.com .Note this website has nothing to do with me.

It seems that somehow my card has been used to pay for the shopify service that relates to this other website which is not mine.

Please can you assist me with a refund for these charges.

These were 3x $147 USD per month charges from 11 Aug, 11 September & 10 October 2023

I am sorry to hear about this situation and I definitely want to ensure we are getting you the support you require. Does your bank have the option to dispute these charges? And have you taken steps with your bank to cancel your card and secure your banking details?

Yes the bank is helping me dispute the charges. They removed the payment token and canceled my card also just to be sure I can’t get charged again a 4th time.

I have also contacted support@shopify.com and it looks like they have logged a ticket. My bank also asked me to try contact the support email associated with fanduco.com (which they were able to see on file) to query why my bank card is being used to pay for their shopify account, however they have not responded.

Great! Flagging the charges will also flag the store with their website hosting and gateway services for investigation. If this store is hosted on Shopify then our Trust and Safety team will be investigating the store as well.
