/cart takes me to an old version of my 'shop now" page - how do I change it?

When my cart is empty and I want to add more products, the button I press takes me to an older version of my “Shop Now” page. I want change that link. I looks like I am on the /cart page when this happens

Greetings, @Chrisbagups .

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention!

I understand that there’s a button on your cart page that is directing you to an older version of your Shop Now page and you need to change this link to a different page. If the issue is due to the browser loading an older cached version of your website, then it’s possible that this can be resolved by clearing your browser’s cookies and caches. Just to confirm, did you give this a try already?

If clearing the browser’s caches does not resolve the issue or you need further assistance with editing your theme’s coding to change the link on the cart page, then we’ll need to take a closer look at where to find support for your theme. If you’re using a Shopify-supported theme, then this is something that our Theme Support team can help you with using the complimentary design time included with your subscription. However, if you’ve run out of design time, then you can also consider hiring a developer or seeing if the community can assist you with this. I’d also recommend taking a look at our directory of certified developers on Shopify Experts.

That being said, if you’re using a third-party or custom theme, then I’d recommend reaching out directly to the theme designer to see if they can assist you with modifying their theme’s coding. If the theme designer doesn’t offer customization support, then you can also consider hiring a developer to assist you with a third-party or custom theme.

I’d love to hear more about your business! What kinds of products do you sell? Also, which theme are you using at the moment?

I found it! If you go into admin and go into Online Store->Theme->Customize->Theme Settings->Add To Cart Notification under Sections, and left click on that, and then go up and click the 3 dot menu and select Edit Code, it will take you into cart-template.liquid. Then you can look for references to your page link and chnage it. i found them on line 6 and line 325. Be careful when keying over the address - you don’t want to change anything else around it.

Our original marketing partner who installed Shopify put that reference in there and never told us. They never documented anything. So you learn new stuff everyday.

Yes as a general practive after you Save your changes I would close any store windows and then re-open them, and you may need to clear cache. I did not in this case.
