Change which image google displays on structured data for homepage only

Google is picking up our site nicely, however on the display for the homepage on google it is using our rectangle logo from the site within the structured data (see screenshot)

If I upload a square image to my sites files, how can I apply that image to appear in the structured data, rather than it using the logo file? as you can see it is cropped as a result… hense I wanted to change it.

The only thing you can do is update the logo image. My guess is that your theme is using the logo on your website (top left corner) for the logo structured data. So you’d need to update that with your square logo.

I also have yet to confirm that those images are 100% derived from structured data. Google pulls the most relevant image for that page which may just so happen to be the logo from your structured data. So updating your logo could fix it, but it may not.

It’s up to Google’s algorithm when or if that image gets updated.
