Proposed Solutions:

  • Shopify Apps: Bulk Image Edit & SEO or Pixc Product Photo Editor for automated resizing and optimization
  • Desktop Tools: Adobe Photoshop batch processing, Canva Pro, or FastStone Photo Resizer for bulk adjustments
  • Feed Management: DataFeedWatch or ShoppingFeeder to automatically adjust image dimensions in product feeds
  • Online Tools: Web-based image resizers that handle bulk processing with fixed dimensions and zip downloads

Key Requirement: GMC prefers square or 4:3 aspect ratio images. The discussion remains open with multiple workflow options suggested but no confirmed resolution yet.

Hello,

I have a problem, that Google Merchant Cetner wont accept my products because, they doesnt fit into the ad campagin. The photos are synchronized with photos from shopify. I have about 22k of product variants, so there is no way i am doing that manually. Is there any app or trick to edit them in bulk edit so they will look good in GMC ? When i looked at other stores they also have rectangle photos, but on google they fit. Thank you very much :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @radaApeta

To bulk edit your product photos to meet Google Merchant Center (GMC) requirements, you can use the following methods:

1-Photo Editing Apps: Use Shopify apps like:

  • Bulk Image Edit & SEO: Resize, crop, or compress images in bulk to fit GMC guidelines.
  • Pixc Product Photo Editor: Automates resizing and optimization. (Shopify App Store)

2-Third-Party Tools:

  • Use Adobe Photoshop (Batch Processing) or Canva Pro for bulk resizing.
  • FastStone Photo Resizer (Windows) for batch adjustments.

3-Automate via Feed Management Tool:

  • Use feed tools like DataFeedWatch or ShoppingFeeder to process your Shopify feed and adjust image dimensions automatically.

4-Ensure Correct Aspect Ratio:

  • GMC prefers square or 4:3 aspect ratio photos. Check Google’s image guidelines.

These methods allow you to bulk edit and synchronize images effectively with GMC.

If you have other questions, feel free to ask me.

I think you can bulk resize your images easily with any online image tools like https://imagitool.com/resize-image
it lets you set fixed dimensions for all those 22k product images in one go, keep aspect ratio, adjust quality, and download everything as a zip. saved tons of time for me.
