Checkout is not available for my store in the test mode

Hello everybody! Could you please help me to understand the reason of the issue?
At the moment I can’t test an order in my store → the draft version is created only, and I get this issue.

Please note that I have a test mode of Bogus Gateway but it doesn’t help. Please advise.

Hey, @Yulia_Dil ! Welcome to Shopify Community!

Do you have a development store? If so, testing with draft orders is not an accepted testing method for development stores. That would be the reason why you’re encountering an error while attempting to do so. It’s a limitation with testing orders on a development store, as stated in this help doc. If you need to test with real payments or draft orders, you must select and purchase a Shopify plan in the account settings of your development store.

Let me know if you have other questions about creating a test order!

Hello @Summer , thank you for your response! Anyway, I don’t understand the issue - I have activated Bogus test payment mode and I need to test some orders to make sure that my ERP system really fetches Shopify sale order tags. If not, then what is the accepted way to test draft orders for a development store? Please assist me here.

Moreover, I was able to test orders previously. Have I exceeded the limit? Unfortunately, I haven’t found any information on such limits. Please advise here.

Thank you in advance and have a great day,

Yulia

My pleasure, @Yulia_Dil !

I see. We do have a guide on creating test orders on your development store in bulk which I believe you may benefit from, however, this doesn’t apply to draft orders. At the moment there’s no way to test draft orders in development stores, and you may refer to the Partner Program Agreement if you wish to learn more about this. Since this is the case, I’m happy to pass this feedback on to our development team and submit a suggestion to allow testing draft orders on development stores. While it isn’t guaranteed that we’ll make it possible, this feedback will allow our developers to better understand the need for the feature and to explore the possibility of enabling it in the future.

Are you currently unable to create test orders through the checkout with the Bogus Gateway or any gateway on test mode? If so, please visit https://bit.ly/3uU0EV2 and get in touch with our partner support team so we can investigate.

Hello @Summer , is there any other available solution except fot the one via the API? I’m not a developer myself and I got used to testing orders in my development store, thus, it is a lot of stress for me that I can’t test them at the moment. I’m unhappy to know if I can’t do it from now on.
Even with having activated the Bogus gateway, I can’t test orders. Please help me to understand what I have done wrong as previously it worked fine. I do ask you for assistance.

Thank you in advance,
Yulia

I’m sorry if I wasn’t able to clarify it properly in the previous reply, @Yulia_Dil . Please rest assured that there’s still a chance you can test orders through the Bogus Gateway again. The only method of testing orders on development stores that isn’t permitted in any case is through draft orders.

Since your ability to create test orders through the Bogus Gateway is currently disabled, you can contact our support team so we can look into enabling this again. You may visit https://bit.ly/3uU0EV2 to create a support ticket.
