Question: Are Shopify Checkout UI Extensions as a whole only available on Shopify Plus or are just specific features only available on Shopify Plus?

Explanation:

On some documentation pages it is stated that “Checkout UI extensions are available only to Shopify Plus merchants” and on other documentation pages it is stated that “Checkout UI extensions for the information, shipping and payment steps are available only to stores on a Shopify Plus plan”.

From what I understand, the Shopify checkout steps are Information → Shipping → Payment → Order Summary → Pay / Complete.

Is the latter statement true and Checkout UI Extensions are only available on Shopify Plus accounts for the information, shipping, and payment steps? If so, can a Checkout UI Extension for the Order Summary step be built for Non-Shopify-Plus accounts?

Or is the former statement true and Checkout UI Extensions are completely restricted to Shopify Plus accounts?

Checkout UI Extensions are available only to Shopify Plus merchants. This includes extensions for the information, shipping, and payment steps of the checkout process. Thanks for flagging this - I’ll pass along the feedback to get the docs updated.

Will this change in the future?. seems unfortunate our customers not on plus cant use some critical features
