Collect credit card info during free checkout

I’m using Shopify with Stripe as a payment processor.

I am selling free digital items, and when I do that, Shopify checkout does not display or require credit card information. Instead, in that checkout section, it says, “Your order is free. No payment is required.”

Is it possible to still require the customer to enter their credit card for these orders? If so, is it possible for Shopify to submit these as $0 payments to Stripe?

Your not gonna get that with shopify checkout and gateways like shopify-payments there’s no reason to collect credit card information for a transaction that is supposed to be free.

If you need to collect a deposit then do so as a fee item,

If you need to sell a subscription product with the first purchase free you’ll need to research the available subscription apps.
