So we’ve put our APRONS on sale and they are in a collection. BUT after doing this all but 2 aprons are no longer in the apron section where they were. WHY?
The only way to find these aprons that are on sale is to run a search for APRONS.
Is there a way to have these in a sale collection as well as under the usual LINENS / APRONS tab?
Yes you can add the aprons to any collection you want. If you don’t have a sale collection, you can create one. Choose Smart collection instead of manual and edit the condition to compare-at price is > 0.

Look at the Linens tab. You can see all lines there. BUT if you click on the Aprons, Towels, or Pot Holders there’s either nothing there now or very few products.
Something has changed very recently and we can’t figure out why it changed.
No, adding a product to a collection will not remove it from a different collection. You can have the same product in many collections.
My suggestion is to go to the products in Admin, and add the collections on the lower right hand side. Add as many as you like. For an apron, you would make sure it’s in both Apron and Linen collections. Towel goes in both Towel and Linen. Same for Pot Holders.
Then you can go to Collections, and click on the collection and see the product. That way you know that it’s working properly. You can add products to the collection from there too. Also, make sure the collection is on the right template. If you change the template make sure the template has the product grid in the theme editor.
Your Towels collection has only 2 products that aren’t in the Linen collection, but Linen has 4 towels and none of them are in the Towels collection. So make sure that the products are in both. If it’s a towel, put it in the Towel and Linen Collections. You don’t need to worry about having it in both. I have many collections with the same products. The only time it’s really an issue is when you’re trying to do an seo breadcrumb, which doesn’t apply here.
Everything was already set and had been on the website for a long time. They just disappeared. We need to figure out why.
The only thing we know of that was changed was adding a collection for aprons for a sale. But that should not have changed the pot holders or towels. Something isn’t right.
Well accidents do happen. Easiest thing to do is add 1 product to the collection and see if it appears on the front end. Make sure the collections are based on their proper templates, and get to adding the products back.
