Connect two shopify stores to one FB business account

Hi there,

I have two Shopify stores, one for Dutch and one for Europe. But I want to connect both of these stores to my FB page (and business account). I have already created a new pixel but I constantly get an error message while connecting.

Message:
Something went wrong, please try again later

So is it possible to connect multiple shopify stores to ona FB business page (especially the Pixel)? And how can you arrange this?

Kind regards,

Merijn

Hello @MerijnvanderP ,

I am Gina from flareAI app. Hope you are having a good day.

Yes, it is possible to connect multiple Shopify stores to one Facebook Business Page and use a single pixel to track events across all of them.

Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Create a Facebook Business Manager account if you haven’t already done so.
  2. Go to the Business Settings of your Facebook Business Manager account and navigate to the ‘Data Sources’ tab.
  3. Click on ‘Add’ and select ‘Add a Shopify Store’ from the dropdown menu.
  4. Follow the prompts to connect your first Shopify store to your Facebook Business Manager account.
  5. Repeat the process to connect your second Shopify store to your Facebook Business Manager account.
  6. Navigate back to the ‘Data Sources’ tab and click on your Pixel.
  7. Click on ‘Add Assets’ and select the two Shopify stores that you want to connect to the Pixel.
  8. Assign the appropriate permissions for each store.
  9. Test the connection by visiting your websites and checking the Pixel Helper tool to make sure that events are being tracked correctly.

If you’re still encountering errors when connecting your stores to your Facebook Business Manager account, double-check that you’ve correctly followed the steps above and that you’re logged in with the correct credentials for both your Shopify and Facebook accounts. You may also want to reach out to Facebook support for additional assistance.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you Gina, I managed it :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Gina!

Thx for sharing your guideline on connecting two shopify accounts! Still, wenn following this set-up I. cannot connect my second shopify account.

I do have one Shop for Austria and Germany and another one for Switzerland (tax/financial reasons). Up till now we were running this set-up with WooCommerce with one store and a translation plugin, now we switched to the two Shopify stores set-up.

With the former set-up we could easily also integrate just one facebook pixel and were working with one facebook account which we would like to keep (respectively have separate pixels for both stores but in the same facebook account).

When now following your guideline I still struggle in the Shopify backend of my second (Swiss) store as in the facebook channel when starting the set up I cannot choose the relevant facebook/Instagram accounts as Shopify tells me “This asset is already connected to another Shopify store.”

Do you have any solution how to solve this? Else, in facebook events manager I can choose the pixel for the second store but due to a lacking connection (as I cannot finish the setup in the facebook Channel in Shopify) it does not start working.

Thx in advance for your support!

We have One brand, and multiple Shopify instances for different countries/regions.

After much research, we found the easiest solution in the end was to create a second Facebook Business Page for each region / shopify store. We could then connect via the Shopify - Facebook Sales Channel integration, then create separate pixels and ad accounts in FB business manager to isolate the stores.

Not ideal, we didn’t want to create FB business pages for each region/store as this is confusing for customers, but we found the alternatives to be very complex setups. In the end, we decided the trade-off was worth it, for a simple integration with Shopify. But it works.

we’re currently dealing with the same problem, have you solved it?

Hey. We did solve it by creating a second facebook business page, which allowed us to link to a separate facebook ads account. It’s the only way to connect two shopify stores without additional apps.
