Consolidation of Shopify Fee Invoices

Topic summary

A merchant is dealing with over 500 separate Shopify fee invoices generated in a single month (July 1-31), creating significant accounting burden. Their accountant must process each invoice individually for tax reporting, estimated to take more than 7 working days.

Current Limitations:

  • Shopify generates individual line-item invoices for each transaction fee by design
  • No built-in consolidation feature exists
  • Standard reports available in Shopify are not official invoices acceptable to tax authorities

Suggested Workaround:

  • Use third-party accounting automation tools designed for ecommerce
  • These tools can aggregate all fees and invoices into summarized reports
  • Direct sync to accounting systems can reduce month-end processing from days to minutes

Status: The issue remains unresolved through native Shopify functionality; merchants must rely on manual compilation or external automation tools.

Hi,

Is there any possibility to consolidate all Shopify fee invoices into single invoice?

Between July 1st and July 31st, we paid the Shopify commission more than 500 times, so we have 500+ invoices. I’m referring to the invoices listed under the Billing tab in Settings.

This creates a significant workload for our accountant. She need to process each invoice individually, generate internal documentation, and prepare report fot the Tax Office. It would take more than 7 working days.

Best regards

Man, it’s just report, not offical invoice that I can show to authorities

Shopify generates a line-item invoice for each transaction fee. That’s just how their system is built.

That said, there’s no built-in feature to consolidate all fee invoices into a single, combined invoice.

Many merchants or their accountants end up manually compiling detailed expense reports to track all Shopify charges over a selected period. This can be time-consuming and increase the risk of errors.

To simplify this, many sellers use accounting automation tools for ecommerce. These tools pull all invoices, fees, and commissions into a single summarized report and sync them directly into their accounting system, so month-end close takes minutes instead of days.

Hopefully, this saves you from having to touch 500 separate PDFs!
