Hey all, I’m looking for a free app (I’m a tiny creative business) that will allow me to create my own Order Statuses so I can see them all on the Orders page together. It is not for my customers to see. I would have less than 50 orders per month.
I just need to see at a glance where each order on my Unfulfilled Orders page is up to, with my customised statuses to know what I’m waiting on for it to proceed. I create customised & personal items which have a lot of variables.
Any suggestions or is this just not going to be available without a subscription?

We are a print shop and are looking for the exact same thing. Internal statuses for where things are in the print process such as “In art production”, “in print production”, “in press production”, etc. Did you ever find an answer for this?

The quickest free solution is already built into Shopify. Just use Order Tags.
Go to any order, click on it, and add a tag like waiting on fabric or ready to make or whatever status you need. You can then filter your orders page by those tags to see everything at a glance. It is completely free, and you can create any tag you like.
If you want something that looks more like proper status labels, try the free app called Order Tagger. It has a free plan that works perfectly for under 50 orders a month.
