I use to be able to pull a report for what Custom Sales my team by going to Product Vendor report and clicking the “N/A”, now with the new update I cannot see it. This is crucial because I need to be able to take out items from inventory that were unable to scan or whatever. Now, I can’t. Has anyone ran into this issue and find a solution? I tried doing it with the new update, but now the vendor is “None” and doesn’t show me the title of the items that my employee typed in. >.<

When you are on the POS there is a tile for “Custom Sale”. My floor team uses this if they cannot find an item in the system that someone is buying. They type in the Title of the item and price. Before the update, I was able to pull a report via Sales by Vendor and it would show me the items we sold that did not have a Vendor, which means it was a custom sale. Now I can no longer see that. I got to the Sales by Vendor report and there is no option for “N/A” to filter out.

Ciara here from Better Reports, I thought I’d share a solution that might help.

When a custom sale is put through in an order, the items are sold without Variant or Product Id info.

At Better Reports, we can pull a list of orders/items that were sold on the POS sales channel without id info to indicate custom sales. This report can include info like the name of the POS location, the date of order, the product/variant name inputted by the staff member, and sales measures.

Thanks for the suggestion. Being a small business with already so many apps to help us in Shopify, I would like to be able to just get the report like I was before and not have to pay for another add on with Shopify.

Have you had any luck with this? Sometimes we have to put in custom sale in the POS if an item isn’t in inventory correctly. Some of my vendors end up as a custom sale too and I can’t figure out how to pull a report to accurately pay them each month. I do NOT want another app – this has to be something inside Shopify already (FYI for any third parties looking at this.)
