- I have dawn theme on my shop but sometimes when I go to my website to see it from a browser it shows up with a completely different page and image banner. How can I make sure my website is actually showing the image I want to my customers? When I go to view store in shopify it shows me the correct version. I’ve tried deleting cookies and caches but the image banner is still missing.
Hi @KarolinP
Maybe the reason due to caching or theme version issues. So, here are some steps to troubleshoot and fix this:
- Check for Published Changes → In Online Store > Themes, ensure you’re working on the Published version of Dawn and not an unpublished draft.
- Clear CDN Cache → Shopify uses a Content Delivery Network (CDN), which can sometimes cause delays. Try making a small edit (like re-uploading the banner) to refresh it.
- Use an Incognito Window → Test your store in private/incognito mode to rule out local browser caching issues.
- Check for Lazy Loading Issues → Some Shopify themes delay loading images until users scroll. Inspect your site’s code (right-click > Inspect) to see if the banner is there but hidden.
If none of these work, you can try duplicating the theme and re-publishing it. Hope this helps ![]()
Hi @KarolinP
I guess you customized your image banner in the incorrect market, which online stores use.
Hi @KarolinP
Thank you for reaching out! If your store is showing a different page or image banner in some browsers but looks correct when you test it in Shopify,
try the following a few things:
Theme Customization – Ensure that the correct image is chosen in your theme settings under Online Store > Themes > Customize. Occasionally different templates (like homepage vs. collections) have different banner settings.
Verify the Correct Version is Published – If you’ve made recent changes, confirm that the correct theme version is published under Online Store > Themes.
Clear CDN Cache – Shopify uses a Content Delivery Network (CDN), which can sometimes cache older versions of your site. Try making a small edit (like renaming the image file or updating a section) to force an update.
Check Browser Extensions – Some ad blockers or extensions may interfere with how images load. Try disabling them or testing in an incognito window.
Try a Different Device or Network – Sometimes, network-level caching can cause discrepancies. Viewing the site on a different device or network can help identify the issue.
If the problem persists, let me know, and I’d be happy to take a closer look!
Can you kindly provide your store URL for proper check out.
Best regards,
Victor
