Delayed subscriptions plus a one-time payment possible?

I want to sell a seasonal product on a subscription basis. It is available only from June to September. So customers would get charged for the subscription only during these months, starting in June, and would stop automatically after September. In addition, I want to charge a one-time set up fee on the date they sign up, which could be anytime between January and June.

So, for example, if John Doe comes to my site on March 10th and wants to subscribe to my product, he would be charged $100 immediately for the set up fee and then starting in June, will be charged $100 per month for the months of June, July, August and September. If Jane Doe signed up in May, she would be charged the $100 set up fee on the day she signs up and then $100/mo from June to September.

Is this possible to do in Shopify?

Yes it’s possible on Shopify, so far it’s a monthly subscription plan, all it needs is setup.

Thanks, good to know! Do you know if there’s a video/blog/tutorial out there that shows how to do it? The key thing is to charge the one-time fee immediately, and then only charge the subscription for the months June-Sept, all in one step. I don’t want the customer to have to do two transactions for this.
