Deleting photos from product but keep in library

Hi.

I have taken over a store and I want to remove some of the images on various product pages but I want them to stay in the library.

If I delete them from the products page, they seem to be deleted from the library as well.

There are multiple images on the products page and I want to remove all but one, but keep these images in the library to use in other areas. I can only see the option to delete the images.

Is there a way I can remove images from a product page but no t delete them from the library?

You can duplicate that product and select copy images option before deleting images to keep them in media.

You can do this using js or css then.

Wont this result in having loads of products though? And multiple versions of the same images?
