If I currently have a domain that’s hosted through shopify, do I still need to set up the DMARC? I have scoured the internet and can’t seem to find a solution, as all the articles point to third party hosted sites. That said, when I test my domain by any DMARC checker it comes up as failed. Thanks in advance

I’ve been struggling with the same problem. I generated a DMARC record, added it to my DNS Settings, and it still shows up as failed. I also can’t get a concrete answer on whether or not I need an SPF record and DKIMS if my domain is managed by Shopify. The guidance on this process has been pretty bad and frustrating.
Hello! If your domain is managed by Shopify, we will be handling the DMARC setup (as well as the required DKIM / SPF authentication) on your behalf in time for Gmail and Yahoo’s February 1st deadline so there’s no action required from you.

Ok cool - what if we’ve already set it up, anything we need to do / remove it?
If it’s already setup, that’s great! We are only inserting DMARC records in (p=none) only for domains where we detect that there is no DMARC policy already.
When will these DMARC records be added? I added one weeks ago and it still was showing as failed. Saw this thread this evening and removed the DMARC record I added. Also, Omnisend mentioned the need for DKIM record. I added one to my store. Will Shopify also add that record or will the one I added work?
The only way I got my DMARC record to work was by adding a DKIm and SPF
record first. Then I added the DMARC, let everything set for the 48 hours,
and it passed. Of course, after I did that I found out Shopify is handling
it but I hope that helps you.

We are on track to have the DMARC records added for Shopify managed domains before the end of this month (Jan 2024). And yes, you will need to ensure that DKIM records for all your other email providers are setup, and for Shopify managed domains we will ensure that you have DKIM and SPF setup for your Shopify outbound emails.
