Thank you for getting in touch with me. I am working on a solar panel project currently (see here). Shopify is going to be used for the design. Is it possible to create a Shopify store separately or can I integrate my existing website with a Shopify store? Could you advise me?

That’s a great question to ask! And the simple answer is YES, Shopify can be integrated into an external website. We call this the “Buy Button” sales channel.
Using a buy button allows you to embed a product or collection into an external website. The cart, payment options and inventory are all tracked through your Shopify account but customers never leave your existing website.
If you do not need to have an online store hosted by Shopify then you can also consider the Lite Plan, which is a low cost option designed specifically for merchants with existing stores or blogs. It’s important to note that if you want to use your Shopify account to manage your Facebook/Instagram advertising you will need to be on the Shopify Basic plan (next step up in plan pricing).
