Does using Shopify payments eliminate transaction fees?

Sorry if this is a silly question! (it just doesn’t seem that clear to me).

The Basic Shopify price being $29.00 a month states that online credit card rates are 2.2% + 20p.

If I use Shopify payments does totally remove the 2.2% + 20p per transaction?

I am reading different things eveywhere so I would like to get this cleared up here.

I’m in Canada, and using Shopify Payments does not eliminate the 2.9%+$0.30 fee. This will always be charged.

If, however, you use another payment acceptor, like Paypal, then they would charge you an additional 2% on top of that, plus whatever Paypal charges. I’m not sure about Paypal because I’ve only used Shopify Payments; one set of fees is hefty enough.
