Drive Sales Up, SEO

Hi Everyone

I’m trying to further my website (fabricroost.com) into the next level but my conversion rate is low. I’m wondering if I am doing the whole SEO thing correctly on my fabrics.

Also setting up Comment Sold so I can do live feeds and maybe drive my sales up.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Hi @Apawlowski , I’m Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.

Thanks for reaching out! It’s great to hear you’re looking to take your website to the next level. Based on my experience, here are some of the suggestions that I hope may be helpful for you:

1. SEO for fabrics
SEO is a long-term effort, but there are several key areas you can focus on to improve your fabric store’s visibility and conversion rate, such as:

  • Product descriptions: Make sure each fabric has a unique, detailed description that includes keywords potential customers might be searching for (e.g., “soft cotton fabric for quilting,” “best fabric for upholstery,” etc.). This helps with both SEO and conversion.
  • Image optimization: Since you’re selling fabrics, high-quality images are crucial. Don’t forget to use descriptive alt text for your images, as search engines use this to index images.
  • Internal linking: Ensure your site’s navigation is user-friendly, and link to related products or blog content to keep visitors engaged longer. This can help with SEO and keep visitors on your site.
  • Blog content: Create blog posts about fabric types, trends, and DIY projects that relate to your products. This can attract organic traffic and help position your brand as an authority in your niche.
  • SEO booster app: If you’re using Shopify, I’d highly recommend installing an SEO Booster app (for example: SearchPie, TinyIMG, Sherpas). It’s an easy-to-use tool that automatically optimizes your product pages, collections, and blog posts, making sure you’re following SEO best practices without spending too much time on manual adjustments. It also helps with structured data, which is important for getting rich snippets in search results (think of the star ratings that appear under product listings).

2. Conversion rate optimize
A low conversion rate can sometimes be linked to things like:

  • User experience: Make sure your website is easy to navigate, mobile-friendly, and loads quickly. A smooth checkout process also reduces friction. Shopify provides tools to improve mobile responsiveness and speed, which can help with this.
  • Product pages: Have clear, engaging call-to-action buttons like “Add to Cart” and "Buy Now.” Make sure customers know exactly what to do next. Adding trust signals like customer reviews, clear shipping/return policies, and high-quality product photos can also improve conversions.
  • Personalization: Offering product recommendations or discounts to first-time visitors can encourage conversions. Shopify apps like “Frequently Bought Together” or “Bold Product Options” can help you set up personalized recommendations to increase your average order value.

3. Comment sold
Using Comment Sold for live feeds can be a great way to drive sales. It’s interactive, and customers love the sense of urgency it creates. Here are a few tips:

  • Make your live sessions fun and informative. Showcase different ways to use your fabrics, offer exclusive discounts, or run live Q&As to boost engagement. You can ask your customers to participate by commenting on their favorite fabric designs, and offer special deals for the most active participants.
  • Use social media, email marketing, and even on-site banners to let your audience know when you’re going live. Creating a sense of anticipation can drive more traffic to your site.
  • During live events, creating limited-time offers on fabric products or special bundles can help increase urgency and drive more sales.

I hope this helps! You’re on the right path by seeking out strategies to improve both your SEO and conversions. With the right tools and adjustments, you should start seeing positive changes soon.

Hey @Apawlowski ,

Things look fine in a glance except the HERO Banner on landing page that looks very low quality. The graphics in that slider should reflect ‘WHAT YOU SELL’ and a bit of brand message (quality, durability, uniqueness or whatever). You can design better sections within minutes by using existing Canva templates. Inffact there is this app called Canvify: https://apps.shopify.com/canvify through which you can create website sections in Canva and import to your shopify store with 1 click.

Other things I notice about your store is that you’ve got tons of different things all crammed into one landing page. I would suggest let your landing page speak about your brand story, briefly discuss your categories of products (and link to those pages) and see how things turn on.

If you don’t want to spend too much time on building a new page, again, just use Canvify app and use an existing Canva template to import and test if it makes any difference. Find a list of templates here: https://canvify.app/templates/

Best,

Abdullah

Hey @Apawlowski !

It’s awesome that you’re looking to grow your website and boost conversions. Low conversion rates can be frustrating, but with a few changes—especially in SEO and engagement—you can turn things around.

Let’s Talk SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

SEO helps your fabrics show up in search results when people are looking to buy. Here are some quick tips to make sure you’re doing it right:

1. Use the Right Keywords – Think like your customers! If they’re searching for “soft floral cotton fabric,” make sure those words appear naturally in your product titles and descriptions. Target long tail keywords as they are less competitive.
2. Include Great Photos – High-quality images help customers feel confident about their purchases. Adding alt text (with keywords!) also boosts SEO.
3. Detailed Descriptions Win Sales – Customers want to know fabric weight, width, best uses, and care instructions. The more details, the better!
4. S****EO-Friendly URLs – A link like fabricroost.com/cotton-floral-fabric is way better than fabricroost.com/product123.
5. Customer Reviews & FAQs – Reviews build trust, and answering common questions upfront can help close the sale.

Live Selling with CommentSold—Smart Move!

Using CommentSold to do live fabric sales is a game-changer! It makes shopping interactive, fun, and super engaging. Here’s why it works:

Show Fabrics in Action – Customers can see how the fabric drapes, moves, and looks in different lighting.
Real-Time Interaction – Answer questions on the spot and keep customers engaged.
Encourages Quick Buys – Limited stock and live demos can create urgency and FOMO (fear of missing out).
More Visibility on Social Media – Live selling on Facebook or Instagram helps bring in new customers.

Other Quick Fixes to Boost Conversions- Make Checkout Super Easy – Fewer steps, multiple payment options (including local ones), and guest checkout can all help.

  • Offer Perks – Free shipping over a certain amount or exclusive discounts can push people to buy.
  • Follow Up with Visitors – Retargeting ads and email reminders can bring back shoppers who left without buying.

Small modifications can make a BIG difference! Keep testing, keep tweaking, and you’ll see those conversions start to climb. Let us know how it goes—cheering you on!

Hi @Apawlowski

  1. To better understand your website SEO situation, I searched Google by using one of your product names called March | Charm Pack Ready Quilt | 36.5x36.5, and here is what I found out below for reference:

  1. However, in my point of view here, I think the pattern of this search result is too simple, and feels hard to know more details about this product. You can consider making your web pages display more colorfully and in more patterns to get a higher conversion rate, like adding rating stars, vote numbers, pricing, stock information, and other relevant details to enhance the shopping experience for users. I attach one doc from Google Search Central below, so that you can know more about what I mean here.

SEOAnt APP has one feature called Google Structured Data - Snippets and it is designed based on the Google Devs Doc, which is related to the suggestion I raised you here. If you have no idea how to start this section, please feel free to test by clicking here to install, and you can find this feature under Search Appearance inside this APP by enabling with One-Click. A 30% coupon SEOAnt 30% Jeffery with the first two months and a 7-Day Free Trial included can be shared with you here as well for your test purpose. You can double-check and start the advanced SEO in a further way with the help of SEOAnt, thank you.
