We are experiencing a drop in conversion reporting via GA4 & Google Ads since completing the checkout extensionability updates for Shopify.
Our developer used custom event pixels instead of the Google/Youtube app due to having 2 different ad accounts (UK & USA)
Looking for a second opinion from a developer on how we have everything set up incase there is a missing piece of code somewhere!
Can you share what else you changed? and what is the change in conversions?

Theoritically this should not happen unless there is some issue with the integration.
In case the code is correct, then I can think of only one scenario where this can happen.
Its possible that your earlier integration with GA4 and Google ads did not comply with the user’s cookie consent and since now you have migrated to Customer events where the pixel tracking is protected by the user’s cookie consent by defailt.
You can also check Google consent mode V2 for improved tracking based on your company’s privacy policy and local laws.
You guys needed to move the tracking codes into customer events to continue tracking.
