Error message when customer creates account

Hi guys, right now when someone creates an account on my page an error message pops up. I have attached it in the screenshots below.

The strange part is that the customer account is successfully created, but the error message still shows up. I am aware I can edit the error message, but I can’t get rid of the red exclamation mark that pops up with it. Why am I getting this error message?

This message is related to a privacy/security measure that Shopify has in place, and as far as I know it cannot be disabled.

This specifically occurs when a customer email address already exists in your shop as an inactive account, which can happen for various reasons such as signing up for an email newsletter, checking out as a guest, or being manually created or imported in the admin. When the customer tries to register, they will see the prompt to verify their email through an emailed activation link, which is required in order to finish activating and gain access to that account.
