Hi Shopify Community,
We’ve noticed a pricing issue when switching the currency to Euros on our storefront.
Example:- Product: uLove 3 massage chair
-
Shopify backend price (Euro): €6475.95
-
Live website price (Euro): €7577.95
This mismatch seems to affect multiple products, not just this one.
We’re trying to clarify and fix the following issues:
1. Why is Shopify including tax in the Euro price by default?
We’d like to understand why Shopify automatically includes VAT/local taxes in Euro pricing even if we haven’t configured tax-inclusive pricing on the backend.
-
Is this a Shopify Markets default behaviour?
-
Can this be disabled?
2. How can we ensure the Euro prices on our live website match the exact Shopify backend prices?
We’ve set our product prices manually in the Shopify admin, and we want the frontend to reflect these values precisely, without any automatic tax calculation or conversion affecting the display.
Additional Info:
- We’re using the Exemplify App for Tax Exemption for Southern Ireland and EU Countries; however, we don’t have VAT numbers for all of these.
Any advice on how to best manage this setup or correct the issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
