Exclude Shipping Protection Product From Loox Product Review

Hi, we are using the Loox review app on our Shopify website and we have shipping protection listed as a product customers can include. But now Loox is sending customers a review request and they are leaving their reviews under the shipping protection product rather than our actual products.

How can I exclude shipping protection as a product to review?

Additionally, shipping protection appears in our ‘You May Like’ auto recommended products section on each product page. Is there a way to remove this as our cart is set up to have the option permanently?

Thanks for reaching out! You can exclude Shipping Protection from Loox review requests by adding it to the Excluded Products list in the Loox admin under Collect Reviews.

To remove it from the ‘You May Like’ section, you can adjust your theme settings in Shopify or edit the recommendation code to exclude it.

While it’s definitely possible to prevent a product from receiving review request emails, the steps to achieve this are a bit different from the other proposed response here. I’m happy to step in to clear this up!

Here’s how to block-list a product (or several) to prevent it from receiving a review request email:

  • Open your Shopify Products menu.

  • Open the relevant product.

  • Type in “NOREVIEW” under “Tags” and click “Add NOREVIEW”:

  • Click “Save”.
    Block-listing a product will only take effect on orders made after the tag is added. Our support team is also happy to help you retroactively block-list any pending Review Requests you have that include this product- just reach out to the support email listed below and we’ll be happy to assist!
