Hi, I have pixel properly installed Shopify-Meta and Instagram app.
All events are firing but when I run adverts it doesn’t count view content and add to cart event properly. People are visiting my site, I have catalog ad turned on so they are automatically send to product page and I can see it in google analytics they are on product pages but It shows only 1 or 2 view content per day even If they were there much more times so it isn’t counted properly and I am paying very high cost per result. I thought It could be because of event Freshness it’s set to Daily but it should be set to real time and I don’t know how to change it.
Also in View content details I have Event deduplication - Not meeting best practices.
Could anyone please help, what’s causing this issue?

It sounds like you are experiencing some issues with your Facebook Pixel and your ad campaigns on Shopify and Instagram. There are a few things that could be causing the problem you are describing, so let’s go through some possible solutions.
First, regarding the Event Freshness setting, you are correct that it should be set to “Real Time” to ensure that events are being tracked accurately and in a timely manner. To change this setting, go to your Facebook Events Manager, select your Pixel, and then click on “Settings” in the top right corner. Under “Event Setup,” you should see the option to change the Event Freshness set to Real Time.
Regarding the Event deduplication issue, this means that Facebook is recognizing multiple instances of the same event, which can lead to inaccurate reporting. One possible solution is to add a parameter to your Pixel code that will differentiate between unique events. For example, you could add a unique ID to the “content_ids” parameter in the ViewContent event. This will ensure that each instance of the event is unique and will be counted separately.
Another possible issue could be related to the way your catalog is set up in Facebook. Make sure that all of your products are properly tagged and categorized in your catalog, and that the correct product ID is being passed through to the Pixel on your website. You can check this by inspecting the Pixel code on your website and looking for the “content_ids” parameter.
Lastly, it’s possible that there could be an issue with your ad targeting or bidding strategy. Make sure that you are targeting the right audience and that your bids are competitive enough to win ad placements. You can also try optimizing your ads for different actions, such as Add to Cart or Purchase, to see if that improves performance.
I hope these suggestions help you troubleshoot your issue and get your ad campaigns on track!
Hello @flareAI , Thank you for your reply. I can’t find the Event Freshness settings and I really need to change it to real time, for example my search event is set to real time, page view to hourly but view content and add to cart is set to daily. Could you please send a pic. or explain more, where to find it where those settings for Event Freshness are ? Thank you
You seem to have an issue with real-time tracking and event duplication for Facebook Pixel. This issue is quite common and can be resolved quickly.
Firstly, you need to ensure that you have selected ‘maximum’ data sharing for your Facebook Pixel. This allows for better tracking and will help you get accurate results.
You also need to recheck that all your products are being appropriately tagged to avoid event-tracking errors. You can also clear cookies and cache from your browser.
As for the event freshness issue, you can change the settings on your Facebook Events Manager.
Go to the overview page for your Pixel, here click on ‘Event Details’. Next, select the ‘Event Freshness’ tab. Under this tab, you can change event freshness to real-time.
If you’re still facing this issue, you can consider switching to a new app like Nabu for Facebook Pixel that offers accurate event tracking, avoids deduplication of events (which seems to be a common error among many FB Pixel users), and can be installed in a few clicks. It is free and can solve these issues quickly.
Hello dear, I am following your method and trying to find this because I’m suffering with Data Freshness Real Time Not Showing, But on Pixel setting and under the event setup there is no option tochange the Event Freshness set to Real Time. I have
