Users are requesting paid training sessions with Stocky experts, citing frustration with inconsistent customer service quality. Support representatives often lack deep product knowledge and sometimes incorrectly claim Stocky isn’t a Shopify app.
Current Support Options:
HulkApps offers paid Stocky integration and troubleshooting services
Shopify Experts marketplace available for hire
Free resources include Shopify help documentation and third-party YouTube tutorials
Key Issues Raised:
Seasonal inventory challenges: Forecasting doesn’t account for seasonal products (e.g., horse blankets at winter’s end). One user asks if manual minimum stock levels can override forecasting—this remains unanswered.
Workflow concerns: Another user finds purchase orders and transfers more complicated than previous Google Sheets/Matrixify setup.
Mixed User Experience:
One experienced user considers Stocky the best part of Shopify for inventory management but warns of a steep learning curve and recent changes making it less user-friendly. They recommend starting with one staff member and proceeding carefully.
Status: The feature request has been submitted to Shopify teams, but no timeline for implementation exists. The discussion remains open with unresolved technical questions.

I would be willing to pay for this service. The ability to get past the person we reach randomly when calling in for customer service is needed. They do nothing except type out your question to the team in North America, and then wait for a reply, then tell you that reply. Then when I say no you didn’t explain it right, they go through this over and over. Meanwhile my hours are wasting away. Shopify’s customer service hours are wasting away. It’s a poor experience for everyone.
Allowing users to pay for training is standard in most POS software systems. Have a Stocky expert that we can book a time with, so we can learn to use the system correctly. We already know many of its limitations, but perhaps there is a better way to pull report information out that can be work arounds (yes, Shopify does LOVE their work arounds). *****Please give us access to training with someone that actually is an expert in Stocky. ****** Not one single customer service rep I have spoken to could show me how to properly perform the functions I need for our year end inventory in Stocky. I had one customer service agent say that because it is an app Shopify doesn’t support it. So they don’t even know it’s a Shopify app! These first level people are not the correct people to have answering these questions and the helpfiles do not contain the required information. Please help!
The labels feature for these forums are abysmal. Labels: stocky, year end, inventory, reports, experts.
I just want to start off by thanking you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience here. I completely understand your frustration and appreciate your valuable perspective on this. It’s definitely something I can and will submit as a feature request to the appropriate teams.
To summarize what I am gathering from your feedback, is that you’d like direct access to training with a Stocky Expert that is provided by Shopify. Let me know if I I should add any revisions to this request.
Luckily, you do have some additional options available to you as far as getting support with Stocky.
Most notably, HulkApps, partners and Experts on the platform, offer their own Stocky support here. It says they support integration and setup as well as troubleshooting, configurations and extensive dedicated support. Their service is definitely worth consideration.
Additionally, you can browse our full marketplace of Shopify Experts or create a job request to find a good fit for your needs with getting Stocky support.
I hope I’ve been able to address this frustration for you for the time being. In the event that I have any news or updates regarding Stocky, I’ll be sure to return to this thread for an update.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Please indicate which of these are FREE resources for the already expensive system we are paying for? If I paying for a rep to chat with I want one that is from Shopify, so you can’t turn around on me and say any issues can’t be dealt with because it’s a partner or an app not supported by Shopify. Thanks.
Hi Jenn, I fully understand where you’re coming from.
For clarity, the last 2 links were free resources, the second of which can be expanded upon by utilizing free tutorials and content on Youtube, keeping in mind that these are third-party resources.
The suggestions I offered are for the interim, as the hope will be to eventually have more direct Stocky support as these resources are considered, built and shipped to our merchants.
If you have any specific questions at this time, please let me know and I will do my best to help you out with the resources available to me, though please bear in mind that this isn’t a live support avenue so responses aren’t immediate.
However, I’ll be sure to keep my eyes on the thread!
We are having the same problems as mentioned above. We Want to use Stocky, but we are running in some issues and are not sure if it’s even possible for us to use. When we ask questions by e-mail or have and online meeting it’s with someone that is not equipped to answer our questions, when we get a response later it usually incomplete or not an answer to the question at all.
One of he things we face seems simple but we can’t figure it out.
We own a equestrian shop, that means we have many products that are season related and the, undoubtedly powerful, forecasting Stocky does simply will not work. For example, at the end of winter, horse blankets will have been best sellers but as its the end of winter we DON’T want to restock them Stocky forecast does not take that into account. Therefore we would like to simply set a minimal stock number for a given product, when the stock falls below this number it should show that in the PO. (so no forecast, just raw stock numbers vs a manual entered minimal stock number for each product). Can Stocky do this ???
Just wanted to check in—have you made any progress with Stocky?
I’ve used it for inventory, and it’s been ‘ok’, but now I’m trying to use it for purchase orders and transfers, and honestly, the process is taking twice as long and feels more complicated than my previous setup with Google Sheets and Matrixify.
If you haven’t been able to get the support you need, did you end up switching to a different system? If so, which one did you go with?
Hi there - we find Stocky to be the best part of the entire Shopify system in regards to careful management of the inventory. We have had to learn the hard way as the staff in customer service is very hit or miss. I’ve had luck once with someone very familiar with it and I’ve had support staff tell me they don’t support it because it’s not a Shopify app, so it’s random if you get a good customer service knowledge set or not. I would give it a go with patience and care (one staff member only until you understand where the weaknesses are, and the massive errors you can create). However, they have been messing with it lately and it’s gotten a bit harder to use rather than friendly. Wish they had hired the original developer that created it to maintain and make changes, as he has that mindset needed to keep it clean and user friendly.
If you have a smaller inventory and manage it manually go for it! For us, we have to use a system that is connected to our POS as we move too many skus and have a huge inventory of thousands of items. I still strongly prefer Stocky for that.
