if you don’t want use an app now yet, and instead of you want use an solution customize on theme, just let me know. It’s depend to your goal.
If you just want add a progress bar and can setup if buyer add to cart achieve the quantity or total amount cart, and then will add a gift to cart, that can be done by customize theme.
But if you want to a solution can setup multi product with other gift different on each, the solution here you should use an app.
