There is no definitive or specific way for this error to be resolved as the final decision is with Google. The following list of steps to try is based on collective knowledge, though even with all boxes ticked, there is no guarantee that the suspension will be lifted.

  1. Make sure you have filled out Google Fields on all products
    1. including the Google Category from the Google Taxonomy list
    2. size, age, color, gender
    3. add the product barcode (GTIN) if applicable
  2. Review the website and make sure you have your legal policies and contact page linked in the footer of their store. Legal policies should be fully customized to match the business - ensure there are no mentions of irrelevant products (commonly seen when merchants do not customize the template from Shopify). Business emails should be customized too, for example, info@mystore.com instead of mystore@gmail.com
  3. Check that products have unique titles and descriptions
  4. If available in your region, participating in Google’s Customer Reviews program might help to build trust
  5. Review the Google Help Policy doc on the error and ensure you are in keeping with their policies
  6. Review the editorial and professional requirements from Google - pay close attention to the section on pop-ups.
  7. Grow My Store is a tool provided by Google that can assess customer experience on a website. Once the website address is added, you will receive a personalized report with tips on how to address any issues found. This is a third-party tool and not supported by Shopify.

This help doc from FeedArmy has also proven to be useful to some merchants too. This is a third-party resource but does provide good context. Another excellent help doc from Feedonomics is worth a look too.

You will need to reach out to Google for a manual review to lift the suspension once changes have been made to the product/site. This can be done through the Merchant Center account under Products > Diagnostics > Account issues or by filling out this form.
