Google Merchant Center Suspended

Topic summary

Gerald’s shop is repeatedly rejected from Google Merchant Center for not meeting requirements, but the specific issues are unclear.

Diagnosis & Resolution:

  • Suspensions typically stem from problems with business model, website quality, GMC settings, data feed information, or trust signals
  • Google doesn’t specify exact violations, requiring comprehensive troubleshooting
  • Critical step: Fix all potential issues before requesting a review

Recommended Actions:
EmmanuelFlossie provided extensive Google support documentation covering:

  • Merchant Center guidelines and policies
  • Account suspension protocols
  • Website and data feed requirements
  • Trust and verification standards

Related Issue:
A separate participant reported product ID format changes (from shopify_DE to shopify_ZZ) after recent Google & YouTube app updates. This appears related to new multi-market targeting features. Suggested workarounds include reverting recent changes or using third-party feed management apps like Multifeeds that allow custom product ID formatting.

Status: The original suspension issue remains unresolved and requires systematic investigation of all compliance areas.

Hey all,

I have a shop and i dont get it listed in the google merchant center. It tells me everytime that I not fullfil the requirements.

At the moments im little out of questions.

Best

Gerald

When suspended, it means you have issues with either your business model, website, gmc settings, data feed info or trust related signals. It’s very hard to know what your specific issues are.

Therefor the only way to know what Google is flagging you for is to resolve every possible issue, yes it’s a big task, but definately do not request a review without fixing all possible reasons.

@EmmanuelFlossie

Hi, I find you very professional and caring.
I have a problem with linking “Google & YouTube” app with Google Merchant Center account. It was working fine before, now it changed, my product ID changed from shopify_DE_groupid_productid to shopify_ZZ_groupid_productid.

I asked for their help, but they didn’t respond and had no solution. Can you solve this problem?

Good day,

I don’t think it can be changed, this is a new change in the google and youtube app as they now allow multiple markets to be targeted.

If you can revert what you changed, that would be my first recommendation.

Alternatively, use an app suche as multifeeds: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

Which allows you to choose the product ID format.
