Google Merchent - Missing value [shipping]

Hi there,

I have around 400 products with the highlight missing value shipping within the google merchent center.

In Shopify I have 1 shipping profile which says, that i deliver to 4 countries. The shipping is for free in the US if the product costs are equal, or more than 89 USD. Below the value, shipping need to be paid. For the 3 other countries, the minimum value is 119 USD, in order to get shipping for free.

I have checked now those 400 products randomly. Actually it seems that those are all the products with a price above 89 USD. Here Google says I have to shipping rate - but again, shipping is for free.

I do not want to add a shipping rate for those products. How to handle this? Is there any youtube video which may explain it on how to set the feed/ attributes? Or what should I do?

One more thing, when I installed the google app on shopify, I exported the shipping settings from shopify to google. I guess otherwise would be much more products affected with this issue.

Thank you in advance :folded_hands:

Hello @DaveD ,

This is Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.

The reason why your products are showing as having “missing value shipping” in Google Merchant Center is that you have a free shipping threshold set in Shopify, but you haven’t created a shipping rate for those products in Google Merchant Center.

To fix this, you need to create a shipping service in Google Merchant Center that has a shipping cost of $0.00. This will tell Google that shipping is free for those products.

  1. Go to your Google Merchant Center account.
  2. Click the Tools icon.
  3. Click Shipping and returns.
  4. Click Create shipping service.
  5. Enter the following information:
  • Name: Free shipping
  • Shipping cost: $0.00
  • Shipping destinations: Select the countries where you offer free shipping.
  1. Click Create.

Once you have created the shipping service, you need to assign it to your products.

  1. Go to your Shopify admin.
  2. Click Products.
  3. Click the Edit button next to the product that you want to assign the shipping service to.
  4. Scroll down to the Shipping section.
  5. Select the Free shipping option.
  6. Click Save.

Repeat steps 3-6 for all of the products that you want to offer free shipping for.

Once you have assigned the shipping service to your products, the “missing value shipping” error should be resolved.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Gina, thanks a lot for the detailed reply/ guide. Much appreciated.

I have a problem with item 3 to 6, since there are > 400 items effected with the free shipping (since their price is above 89 USD). It would take quite some time do to this for each item. Is there another way possible? like a bulk edit or so?

Hi Dave,

If your Shipping is free, you must enter the Shipping value of ‘$0’ inside the merchant center. You can do that by clicking on the Settings button in the Google Merchant Center, then clicking on ‘Shipping and Returns,’ and then adding a shipping rate of ‘0$’ as the Shipping cost. Here is a screenshot for you:

This will be applied to the account level. Also, you can use Nabu for Google Shopping, and we have bulk edit options to set up your Shipping and feed.

Please let me know if you need any assistance with the setup.
