I’ve been having problems trying to verify my store, I keep being told that my verification failed. I have tried multiple ways of entering this code and adding words to the front and I still cannot get it right. Can someone please help me?

This was my first attempt which failed.

I also tried:

All of these also failed. I do not know what else to do.

Hey @kristin96

You may try this code in your meta tag, not 100% sure but chances are it might work for you

Please double-check that you have placed this meta tag within the “” section. Once you’ve updated the correct meta tag, save the changes, and then try to verify your site again on Google Search Console.

If I managed to help you then, don’t forget to Like it and Mark it as Solution!

Hi @Moeed

Thank you for responding so quickly. Your suggestion did not work though and my verification still failed.

Is this the correct place?

I know this is an old thread, but maybe it might help someone.

I too had this issue but once i disabled my store’s password, the verification worked. So try disabling your store password by going to:
Admin > Online store > Preferences > Password protection > disable restriction

I’m having this same issue of not being able to verify my website. I have tried both copying the code as well as disabling the password. Still no luck in verifying
