I have a beauty product store for retail customers but also want to offer the same products to professionals at two different wholesale price points which are hidden by log in. One price point will be a basic 10% discount and the other will be a buy-5 option. Do I need an app for this and which one do you recommend? Bonus if it’s a FREE APP?!

I understand that you are both looking for some wholesale app recommendations, as you wish to sell the same products at a different price point to a group of people kept behind some sort of login.
@tavip you would indeed most likely need an app for the functionality that you have explained, as by default Shopify does not cater for hidden or locked prices. If you are on the Shopify Plus plan then you can add the Wholesale Channel and create a separate, password protected wholesale site. If you are not on the Plus plan, then you could also consider opening a second, separate store specifically for wholesale only. However, this would keep your retail and wholesale stores separate from each other, and you may not want the extra work of managing both stores.
You could consider utilizing discounts, so that only specific customers can get a discount such as 10% off as you suggested. We have some helpful information about setting up discounts on Shopify here. I also found an external third party guide which explains how to set up wholesale using discounts - feel free to check it out here. Please bear in mind this resource is completely external and not written by Shopify, so proceed with caution.
Other than the options listed above, using an app is another way to add wholesale functionality, however you are unlikely to find an app that will do everything you need for free. I did some digging on the Shopify App Store and found a few that I think are worth checking out. You can always reach out to the app developers before installing the app, and they can answer any app specific queries you may have. You can do this by clicking the Support tab on the App Store page.
