How can I add 100% insurance to my packages?

Hello,

I am looking for a solution to always add 100% insurance to our package and the cost of insurance integrated to the shipping quote our customers see on the checkout page, our package values range between $200 - $50,000 so a custom package rate is impossible.

I do not want route, shipsurance or any other 3rd party insurance because we have good rates with UPS insurance.

Help will be greatly appreciated

Hi @ANorendnzayan ,

If you have a direct account and negotiated rates with UPS, you won’t be able to use Shopify Shipping. However, you can integrate your own UPS account into Shopify using an app like the PH Multi Carrier Shipping Label app.

This app will not only help you get live shipping rates at checkout but will also allow you to include insurance coverage for 100% of the order amount. This ensures that the rates displayed at checkout are inclusive of insurance.

Hello @Mirdas ,

We have been fully using PH Multi Carrier Shipping Label app for the past few days and so far its been working really well. I would also like to say that i have received amazing technical support from your team, they have been really patient with all my questions and have solved all my issues swiftly. Kudos to your team!

I just wish the app will be a little user friendly in the future, in all honesty shipstation is still easier to navigate. Hope you take this criticism positively that would lead to your apps success

Thank you so much for your appreciation and feedback.

We are already working on it and will soon reach out to you for firsthand feedback :slightly_smiling_face:

I just discovered Claisy: have a look

Hi @ANorendnzayan

Since your package values range between $200 - $50,000, you really need some form of coverage, high-value shipments can be risky without it. If you don’t want to rely on Route, Shipsurance, or other third-party insurance, one option is to use a shipping protection app.

Unlike traditional third-party insurance, it lets you embed a protection widget on the cart or checkout page so customers can opt in by paying a small fee (which goes directly to you). This way, you can cover costs if something is lost or damaged, while keeping full control of the claims process, so you can respond quickly and maintain a positive customer experience.

And if no claims are made, those protection fees simply become extra revenue for your store. For high-value items, this approach often provides more flexibility and reliability than standard insurance options.

Hope that gives you another option to consider!
