How can I add multiple images to specific product variants?

Hello,

I am attempting to add multiple images to certain product variants. Currently, for the beige product variant, only the beige colors are populating. However, for the black option, a single color of beige and a single color of black are populating.

I was under the impression that only one image could be added for a product variant without changes to theme code. Is this still the case or has this changed?

Would love some advice on this and direction on how to host multiple images for certain variants
