I am very new to Shopify. I am wanting to add outside merchant products to my store that I find to be tried and true items but I am failing at how to do this. I am being redirected to outside drop shipping apps etc but the products I am looking for are not there? Send help. How can I add new online products that I do not own.
You’d first need to get permission from the companies who make/sell the products that you’re looking to list on your Shopify store. Otherwise, you could run into copyright/trademark issues, and potentially have your store closed.
If the products aren’t part of a dropshipping app, then the only way to add them would be manually.

As of writing this, you cannot import products from another merchant’s website into your Shopify store. But you can ask the merchant to provide you with a CSV file so you can bulk upload their products into your store.
So, these should be your next actions:
- Reach out to the sellers of the products you want to feature in your store. Explain your interest in selling their products and discuss terms of collaboration. It’s important to establish a clear agreement regarding pricing, inventory management, shipping, and handling returns.
- Ask the sellers to provide you with product information in a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. This file should include details like product names, descriptions, prices, SKU numbers, and any other relevant information you wish.
- Then use the CSV file that the seller provided, make some changes if you want (your sales prices, product names, etc.). And then import the CSV file into your store following this guide: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/import-export/import-products
