How can I attract international customers to different platforms?

I have not had much success in international markets like .ca. How do I attract customers to these other platforms. Do people actually use them or do they just go right to .com?

Hi @Eastie ,

Thank you for getting in touch. The key to utilizing different domains is offering different things on each domain you use. For example, if you have both a .com and a .ca domain, Canadian customers are more likely to visit the .ca domain if your products were listed in CAD$ there. You could also offer a French language translation on the .ca domain as Canada is a bi-lingual country. If the .ca site is identical to the .com one, there is no incentive for Canadian customers to use the .ca domain instead.

I would recommend that you look into using Shopify Markets, which is a new feature we have created to help merchants sell effectively in different countries and regional markets. As mentioned, Markets will let you offer pricing in local currencies and localized translations, as well as international domains. You can check out our blog post on the release of Shopify Markets to learn more about the feature and how you can make use of it to successfully sell to customers in different markets.

I hope this helps but please let me know if you have more questions.
