How can I automatically notify suppliers of purchases in a dropshipping business?

Hello, I’m in the process of starting a dropshipping business on Shopify where I’ll be hosting various streetwear brands. Our platform, serves as an omnichannel marketplace connecting streetwear fashion brands with consumers and resources to help them grow and scale their businesses. Essentially, we’re the bridge between buyers and brands, operating as a marketplace.

We don’t hold any inventory; brands provide their products, images, descriptions, and more. Unlike traditional dropshipping, we’re not using apps like AliExpress; instead, we’re curating brands from a select list, all of whom operate their own stores on Shopify.

My question is: Is there an app or functionality within Shopify that can automatically notify the supplier (in this case, the brand) when a customer purchases one of their products? I need this notification to include all the necessary details for fulfilling the order, such as shipping information and inventory linking. Your guidance on how to set up this communication between our platform and the suppliers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Our app EZ Exporter might be able to help with this.

In the app, you can create multiple “Export Profiles” with custom filters at the line item level to automatically send them a CSV/Excel file containing order data with the line items specific to them. You can filter by the “Lineitem Vendor” field, for example. Each Export Profile can also be configured with a custom “destination” (such as an email address, FTP/SFTP server, Google Sheets, etc.).

Our app will repeat order-level data for each line item row by default, so they will still have the customer/shipping info in the CSV file, but will only include their line items/products.

You can then scheduled the exports to run automatically (as frequently as every 15 minutes and there’s an option to only include new orders that were created since the last export).
