How can I best import and map orders to the Shopify format?

So I have my products selling on various small external platforms. The product export towards those platforms are no problem. BUT importing orders is next to impossible. Those platforms do not support Magnalister or the format that Matrixify needs. And they only supply their own specific csv format. So my job is manually importing them.

Do any of you know of an app that imports and maps orders to the Shopify format?

Hi @MOISCHKOWITZ

Orderbot can help with this. You’d be able to manage all of your sales & channels from within orderbot.

Great I just scheduled a demo. Had not heard from them Thanks a lot.

Good morning @MOISCHKOWITZ ,

I think our app, EZ Importer, can help. We have a mapping system that allows you to map the CSV file you upload to the specific Shopify fields you want to import. The mapping system is very flexible; we support most formats.

The only format we don’t support is adding multiple line items on the same row; some platforms export the line items all in a single column, which we don’t support now. We expect the line items to be on separate rows with the same order number. It would have to look like this.

Feel free to reach out to our support team if you have further questions; they can also review your file and let you know if the format would work with our mapping system.

I hope this helps!

Hello,

Renars here from Matrixify.

Sorry to hear that our specific format would not work for you.

A great way to create any kind of custom mapping is using Google Sheets as a middleman. Using formulas such as IMPORTDATA you can grab data from the supplier into Google Sheets file and then use formulas in Google Sheets to create a Matrixify template file in another sheet with details exactly as you need as you manage it all yourself with formulas. Then set up automated import from Google Sheets to Shopify with Matrixify app. We have a great tutorial explaining this idea for Products but there is no reason why the same could not be applied to Orders.

Of course, a downside for this is that it can be a bit complex to set up and relies on a middle platform - Google Sheets for the process to work. So this might not be the best solution for everybody but definitely something that you can look into.

Man, sorry I did not want to trash your software. Sorry I actually think it is great. This tip is brilliant, thanks I did not think of that. Thanks a bunch.

Hi,

Oh, did not think of it as trashing so nothing to worry about. Totally understand that your file format does not match what app needs for Orders.

Amazing to hear that this solution might work for you. Let our support know if anything!
