We offer holiday floral centerpieces to preorder and pick up at our floral department. The floral centerpieces are usually all prepared and ready for pick up on the same day. I would like to be able to bulk select all the preorders and send the customers a notification that they are ready to pick-up instead of going to each order individually and marking ready for pick-up. Is there a way to do this?

Why is shopify ignoring this? This is crazy, hundreds of monthly and holiday pick-up boxes and I have to spend all day going one-by-one digging then out of the shipping orders, then clicking EACH order, (waiting 5-7 seconds for Shopify’s dramatic fancy page load), then clicking on “Ready for pickup”, which takes me to another page, where I must click “Send pickup notification”, which then re-loads the order page when done. Then I have to click back, usually twice to get back to the list of order (another dramatic fancy page load), then I have to find the next order with local pickup and repeat.
WHAT ON EARTH KIND OF NONSENSE IT THIS??? All other shopping platforms that I worked with make anything that’s common between orders into a bulk action item. The waste of time is undue and extremely annoying -not to mention expensive and difficult to manage at a time when we expect many people to come and pickup within a narrow window of time. FIX IT ALREADY!!! We have been talking about this for years

You don’t need to be using preorder functionality or managing the orders via the app to use this feature.

Hello everyone, we just finished developing this app:
Gizmo: Bulk Pickup Manager
The app is simple and minimal, focusing solely on enabling users to notify customers in bulk when their orders are ready for pickup and to track all previously picked-up orders. We hope this is useful for the community.
Shopify’s standard local pickup flow doesn’t currently have a bulk “Ready for Pickup” notification feature — each order must be updated individually.
If you want to speed up the process, there are three workarounds:
Shopify Flow – On Shopify Plus, you can automate the notification when an order is marked ready for pickup.
Order Management Apps – Tools like OrderlyPrint or EZ Notify allow bulk status changes and notifications.
Export + Email Tool – Export the ready-for-pickup orders to a CSV, then use an email platform (e.g., Klaviyo) to send the notice to all customers at once.
This ensures every preorder customer is informed without manually updating each one.
