If a customer chooses to pick up there order because they are local to be sent a link where they can schedule a meet up at a local store.
for example, I want to list different Walgreens locations where they can choose a date and time to meet me. I don’t want customers coming to my house.
the apps on Shopify let customers choose date and time of pick up when they check out. I don’t want customers to do that until the item is ready. Some have 5 day turnaround. One has 4 weeks. I don’t know how to customize based on the product so I think the best thing to do is let them choose when the item is ready.
does anyone have any suggestions?

easy way would be to have a private app and listen on orders that are ready e.g in last 6 hours etc. and then send an email notification to customers and inside the email template put the link to a page e.g Order Pickup.

create a separate Order Pickup page where user can select date and time for pick up.

when user select date and time on the page you can save the details on Shopify end using API call.
