Hi, I have recently made but not yet launched a store under someone else’s name but now want to have the store for myself. I am the only owner so this isn’t an ownership issue but the only problem is that when I go to submit my ID it says ‘ID verification for their name’ instead of mine. I have changed the name on all of the settings that I can find but it still stays the same. I imagine this means I will get rejected straight away since the name on the ID doesn’t match up and therefore I can’t receive any payments. Is there a setting that I am missing that controls which name is stated during the ID verification process and can I change this?
Any help would be appreciated!

I believe this is something our payments team will need to amend for you, so I’d recommend contacting our support team directly to get the ball rolling on this. They’ll be able to authenticate you on your account and send your ticket to our payments team to process the change of the name we have on file for Shopify Payments. If they require any documentation from you to verify your identity, they’ll then reach back out to you and ask for this.
thanks for your reply, just finished a chat with the support team as you replied and am now waiting for an email with an accounts team specialist that will hopefully resolve the issue
