So I installed a popup for my shop letting people know about a sale and customers are telling me tgat it pops up constantly. Can I change that?

It sounds like the popup app you’re enquiring about is a third-party one, is that correct?
If so, the app may have a setting within it to configure how often the popup appears on your store. If you cannot locate this setting, it’s best to query the app’s support team directly about this, as they are best equipped to answer any app-specific questions. They’ll be able to let you know if such setting within the app exists, or if how the popup is behaving is expected behaviour.
If for whatever reason you cannot get in contact with the app’s support team, you can reach out to our Shopify Support team and we can get in touch with the app’s support team on your behalf. To do this however, we will need to authenticate you against the correct store. We aren’t able to do this via the Community Forums at this time, so you’ll need to reach out to our team via our Help Centre here. Once you’re logged in on our Help Centre, type in your question or the topic you need help with. After that, you should see the Get Support heading at the very bottom of the page, and you can click Continue to start a support request.
Apart from advertising your sale with a popup, you could also look into adding an announcement banner to your store, to highlight your current promotion. As effective as they are at driving sales, at times popups can be disruptive to a customer’s overall shopping experience on a store. By adding an announcement banner, customers are still made aware of your store’s promotion, while being able to browse more freely without any interruption. Most themes would have a banner feature built-in, but you can check our help document here on how you can double check this on your store’s theme.

You may want to take a look at our app Easypop. With Easypop you can set a frequency limit to control how often your popups are displayed. For example, you could limit your popup to display a max of once per day per visitor.
