Long story short, I like to do surprise drops on my website to reward my loyal customers and regular buyers, also to encourage people to browse my site and stay close to the brand. Those items quite often become more popular than usual releases after a period of time and hence better resell value. I recently found people used BOT to check the site constantly so they don’t miss the potentially high valued products (flippers). Is there any way I can pick them out and block them at all? Thank you in advance. x
My recommendation would be to hide those products from search (set up a metafield on them with the namespace and key of “seo.hidden” and a text value of “1”) and set up a page where the customers can buy the products that is not a product page.
Another approach could be to have the link in the emails you are probably sending those VIP customers and regular buyers automatically add the product to their cart and/or go straight to check out with it. So that way it can only be bought (in a normal sense) from the email those customers received.
Something one might do with a flash drop or live selling.
Hope that helps!
Another thought that just came to mind would be to set them at an astronomical price (if allowed) and set up a discount code that only that VIP group of customers can use to discount it down to the price you want them to pay.
I’m not sure how that might affect financial data but it would probably keep the bots away… Again I was just spit balling there trying to think of a solution for you.
Hope that helps!
