How can I effectively manage international shipping from the UK?

I am having a huge problem with international shipping from the UK!

My domestic shipping is easy with Shopify Shipping where I print EVRI labels direct from the orders and its all automatic. However, I require something similar for international shipping. I am disappointed that you can Calculate Shipping Rates for international orders in Shopify Shipping and it shows DPD international rates (which are miles better than my current rates!) however there is no way to avail these rates and print the label in the orders?!

I currently use DHL for international shipping and I ship to roughly 40+ countries all from the UK. the US and Australia are my 2 biggest markets after the UK. I sell items that are between £150 - £200 so I am not selling huge volume which means fulfilment centres are not worth it, but at the moment the DHL process is long winded and very expensive.

All my products have the correct weights, HS codes and I have also done the same for all my packaging. What I need is a solution that shows customers shipping options and prices at checkout, based on what they are ordering, then the option to simply print a label using the details already in, and collected by Shopify, I also need to be able to tap into a providers reduced shipping rates as I don’t sell the volume to get reduced rates with my own carrier accounts.

For example, I have a Custom Shipping rate for USA, I sold an item to Puerto Rico, classed as USA, and I lost £50 because of the extra shipping cost! I need something that would work out the rate when the address is input at checkout so I don’t take these hits, then I simply print the label.

I basically want the same for International Shipping as I get with EVRI Domestic Shipping with Shopify Shipping.

Why can’t I avail to DPD international rate?

Please help! It’s costing me a fortune, losing me customers and I need a solution.

On the plan page it does state we can use DHL Express or Fedex. but you don’t have this option available. and there is no * stating its not available for US residents. The suggested app is fine, but you must first register a business account with ALL carriers. This is unrealistic as carriers will only give a good rate if you are using their service and ONLY their service. if you’re splitting it across them all you’re unlikely to get a decent rate.

Personally it does seem like Shopify has forgotten the UK offing only 1 international option and sadly that courier is normally rated in not such of a high regard.
