How can I exclude wholesale orders from e-commerce analytics?

Hi!

I’ve recently came across a problem with the reporting for our e-commerce shop.

We sell our products both online to individual customers and directly to brick-and-mortar stores who carry our products. In the past we’ve always used Shopify solely for the individual orders, but since we’ve massively increased the number of products in our offer we just started manually importing the wholesale orders to Shopify as well (Controlling the stock in excel for both Shopify and direct orders has become incredibly difficult). This functionality is great, but unfortunately it’s interfering with the analytics for our store for ex. average order values (Obviously the wholesale orders are of a much higher value).

Does anyone know a solution to still manually create orders within Shopify but somehow “blacklist” them for overall analytics?

Thanks!

You can do this by clicking on an individual report and filtering by Sales Channel, then for example to only show the online orders click Online Store.

On the pages that show a summary (like when you first click on Analytics), there’s not a way to filter that data, you have to enter the report.

Another idea, if you don’t want to affect those overall numbers, is to handle the non-Shopify orders externally and use an inventory management software, that may be easier then spreadsheet adjustments. I’ve seen a few clients using SellBrite, and have dabbled in it a bit but it’s not my expertise… just an idea.

Hi there - if you can’t achieve this in Shopify, you could easily do so using our free app Report Toaster. Please feel free to take a look and let us know if you need help or have any questions. Thanks!
