How can I improve my online decor store for better sales?

Hi everyone,

First time posting here so please let me know if anything is against regulations!

I started up a store not too long ago and I am getting reliable traffic to the store and a decent number of add to carts, then a few to checkout but no actual sales yet.

Home page

1. Highlight CTA buttons

A primary call to action button is one of the important things for a home page of an online store. With this button, you will redirect customers to the page you want them to take action mostly. It can redirect to a collection page, or a product page, etc. This button’s color is not so eye-catching because it is the same color as the other text, you can try another color for it.

Or you can adjust all the buttons to the same color.

2. Add heading content

The initial section grabs visitors’ attention, conveying your brand message or displaying products. It forms their first impression of your store and influences their choice to explore or exit. Thus, crafting a remarkable heading is crucial. It can highlight a new product or advertise a sale.

3. Highlight the product price and product title

For the best clarity you can increase the product price and title visibility by using a large font size, bold text style, or eye-catching color and please ensure the product price is aligned properly.

4. Add testimonial - customer reviews

  • Customer reviews are proof of your product quality. This section will help you build customers’ trust. You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos.

1. Make the price more visible

To make the price more attractive, you should increase its font size or color.

You can also set a favorable price for your products, you can attract customers and encourage them to make a purchase. A well-planned sale price can increase interest in your products, bring in new customers, and make existing ones buy more.

2. Include both User rating average and number of ratings for product

When you are getting feedback and rating from customers, you can take into consideration to add them. Many users rely on ratings and reviews to select products and displaying them right on each product in the first place can quickly build your credibility.

Congrats on your store and It’s great that you are having some traffic. My suggestions to increase conversion rates:

1) Header & Banner:
Header and banner are most crucial part of a the store design because that’s the first thing a visitor sees. E-commerce websites bounce rate differs in average from 20% to 45%. Meaning, many users give the judge about an online store in the first few seconds and bounce off.

  • Currently, your banner isn’t full width. It’s better to serve it with full screen.

  • You can add a some slogan and text and make sure to highlight your CTA. It’s not grabbing attention as it is. You can use a colored button instead of outlined.

  • Customers usually expect mega menu to expand when they hover over, instead of clicking. Also, you can serve sub menu links with visuals horizontally. If you can afford, many premium Shopify themes has these features along with many others:

2) Add Content:

  • You should add content to your website. Listing only products won’t get your far in terms of SEO and CRO. Also It’ll help you build trust and keep customers engaged. It’s great that you’ve started writing blogs. You can highlight them in your home page like:

  • Or talk about your story, what makes Complete Home Decor unique so that customers should buy from you. Make sure to add visuals with text content to not lose attention of visitors. And consider including your keywords to content & storytelling sections.

These sections play crucial part in online stores; It’s great that you have reviews enabled. However until your products have solid reviews, you can include selected testimonials in your home page to build trust:

  • It’s great that you’re offering discount on email signup. You can also highlight it in the announcement bar. Also you can make the footer email section more visible like:

  • Remind customers about their abandoned cart and offer special offers via email & sms or web push notification. In fact, there are plenty of customers who reach to checkout but don’t pay so that they can receive special abandoned cart offers.

5) Loyalty & Reward Program:

I would suggest you to implement a loyalty & reward program. Customers are more inclined to buy knowing that they’ll be getting discount points on repeating purchases. Also you can build a solid customer base. Example:
