How can I include collections in my theme search?

I’ve just put together a search for my theme but I’ve noticed it doesn’t include collections.

Is there any way to include collections in this at all?!

Or is there a filter on the collections at all? Like a collection contains?

A quick solution is to use a search + filter app like this https://apps.shopify.com/ultimate-search-and-filter-1. It adds an Instant search bar with the capability to search by products, collections, pages, and blogposts.

Yeah I was interested in this ability as well. Is it only possible with a custom app?
