How can I keep customers on the product page after clicking 'Add to cart'?

Hi,

I am having issues when my customers click “Add to cart” on the product page they then get re-directed to the shopping cart page. Is there a way to change the code so that when “add to cart” is clicked the customers stay on the same page. Also, I am looking to add a number next to the shopping cart icon in the header that indicates how many items are in the cart.

I think I have to check if your theme support ajax add to cart or not.

If not then it requires some custom development.
