How can I make unique products appear as variants on Shopify?

Hi,

I’ve been trying for quite a while to have Shopify handle unique products as variants of eachother, however I have been unsuccesful so far and would greatly appreciate any help. Please see the attached file for details.

Current situation

• Each product has a unique SKU and each SKU has its own stock
• In the order customers place, the variant information does not matter > The SKU dictates which product to send
• Both products were created using the exact same title. Shopify however automatically adds a [1] to the handle.
• I have tried changing the handle cell-values to be identical and re-upload the CSV, however Shopify then creates a new product.

I want Shopify to see both products as variants of eachother so that shop-visitors can easily switch between the products

I recommend using the Easify Product Options app to seamlessly merge your current products. Start by creating a new product (Njoy Your Sports), representing both existing products. Next, establish a product option, such as “Type”, and associate your two current products with its option values.

Follow these steps for a smooth setup :

• Create “Njoy Your Sports” as a new product without any additional options or variants.

• Install the app and create a new option set.
• Add “Type” options using an appropriate option display type like Buttons. Connect your existing products to each option value.

• Apply the option set to the “Njoy Your Sports” product and save the settings.

• Use the seo.hidden metafield on your 2 existing products to hide them from the storefront.
