How can I permanently delete my unused ecommerce account?

Hello!

I have a Shopify account that I made for a temporary work. Now I do not use it anymore and would like to permanently remove it.

I have an experimental store currently inactive because it’s empty, and I am also as a colaborator in another store owned by someone else.

I only want to delete my experimental store and Shopify account.

However, I have searched everywhere in the forums and in Shopify support, and I can’t seem to find the place to cancel my plan (wich is a free plan). The Settings > Plan doesn’t exist for me. At least I can’t find it anywhere.

Please let me know how can I delete my account permanently.

Hi there @msdesignfoto !

If you have created a Shopify store on a free trial and have not yet added a billing method or selected a paid plan for your store, you would not need to manually cancel your store as it will automatically time out when your trial ends and you will not be billed for this store.

In cases where a plan has been selected and a billing method was added, you’ll be able to close your store down yourself as outlined here on our help site.

Let me know if this is not what you’re looking to be able to do here, or if there’s any other info I can share with you!

I’ve been having issues with shopify whereby I kept receiving texts to my mobile number whenever I tied to make a purchase in various online stores. I didn’t recall ever registering with shopify, but I was hoping to stop it if I opened an account. Now I have an account I never needed nor wanted and the text messages with shopify codes keep coming whenever I check-out online. How to I get rid of both?

If you don’t wish to continue with your Shopify store you can close it down yourself by following the steps outlined here.

The text messages you mentioned here, may be from using Shop Pay and entering your number for use with that service.

If you wish to opt-out, you can do so here using this form.
